You may have wondered, in the previous news, how to establish a wireless Bluetooth communication. Here is how we did it. Well, all we have done is just connecting a Bluetooth modem (BlueSMiRF) to the PSoC Base Board.

This Bluetooth modem operates with just 4 pins (+5V, GND, TX and RX; CTS and RTS were soldered/connected at J1 in the back). TX of PSoC goes to RX of Bluetooth modem and PSoc RX to Bluetooth TX. The tiny blue module in the picture is a Bluetooth USB module ($14.95), which is inserted to a USB port of a computer. Since the connection is a standard serial protocol, no need to write another program. Already developed serial programs just work like magic. These components were obtained from Spark Fun as mentioned in the previous news. Tutorials and documents are also provided there.
